Trolling made easy....Steer your kicker from virtually anywhere in the boat.
The T4 Electro Steer allows you to maintain control of your boat while landing your fish, or any other time you need to steer when you can't be at the helm or kicker tiller.
With reasonable mechanical skills, you can install the T-4 Electro Steer in under an hour in your driveway on any kicker motor that has a threaded tilt-tube. There is no need to drill holes in your boat to mount it.^^
The drive unit has a rugged internal motor that steers the kicker though the use of a remote controller tethered to a 24 foot cable.*
Simply tap one of the directional buttons and the T-4 will immediately respond, moving your kicker incrementally for precision control.
For a large direction change, hold the button down to quickly move your kicker from full right to left in just seconds to swiftly and safely make a hard turn.
• This Saltwater version of the T4 is constructed using all stainless steel metal components
• Powered off your boat's 12 volt battery
• Motor encased in black Delrin® and is water resistant
• Requires about 12" of space on each side of your kicker engine (for the T4 on one side, and the drive rod on the other)
• The T4 power unit can be installed on either side of your kicker
* Note – All Panther remote steering systems can be used with the optional (but highly recommended) Wireless Remote Control Fob (PAN 55-0105; see Accessories).
If you are ordering your T-4 as a new system and you want to use the Wireless Remote to steer instead of the wired controller, you have the option to save a few dollars by adding a note to your order (during Checkout) specifying that you want to order the "NE" (no electronics) version of the T-4.
This, however, is not recommended, as the electronic controls that come with the "standard" T4 can still be used to operate the system should you lose the wireless fob, or drop it overboard. Please call your Fisheries representative at 800-426-6930 if you'd like assistance.
^^Simply screw the T4 power unit onto your engine's tilt tube and secure it with the mounting nut.
Then insert the drive rod through the other end of the tilt tube and screw it into the T4 body.
Install the included ball-stud mounting bracket, or one from your engine's manufacturer (they all make them), to your motor and mount the ball studs on the motor and the drive rod. Use the supplied connecting rod and quick-connect sockets to connect the end of the T4 drive rod to the bracket you installed on the kicker engine. It's that simple.
Lastly, run the included power cord (with controller) from your battery to the T4 power unit...and you're ready to steer from anywhere in the boat. Everything is plug and play.
The attached image (especially if you magnify it) shows the T4 power unit screwed onto the port side of the tilt tube with the drive rod extending out of the starboard side of the tilt tube.
The connecting rod can be seen attached to the end of the drive rod and connecting to the mounting bracket attached to the kicker engine (difficult to see).
