When used with a water-in-fuel sensor (sold separately), the RK 11-1570 Water Detection and Filter Restriction Module alerts you when water in the filter bowl needs to be drained, and also when the filter element is becoming clogged and needs to be replaced.
It is designed to be used with all Racor Turbine Series or Marine Turbine Series fuel filter/water separator assemblies.
This module includes a pre-set vacuum switch (7" Hg.), connector and outlet adapter fitting.
It does NOT include a Water Sensor Probe - which must be purchased separately; see Related Products, below.
The red "Drain Water" (water sensor) or "Change Filter" (vacuum switch) lights illuminate continuously and the buzzer sounds momentarily when the sensor or switch is activated.
• 2" gauge type detector and filter restriction module
• Includes preset vacuum switch, connector, and outlet adapter fitting
• Steel case black dial with white lettering
• Resets automatically after water is removed
Heavy on the technical side...
A water probe is only one component of a water detection system. It will not work without an electronic water detection module.
Water detection modules analyze electrical resistance at the probe tips and determine if water is present in the fuel. If so, a low voltage circuit is completed and (typically) a warning light and a buzzer are activated - alerting the operator.
The bowl must be drained (with the engine off) to remove trapped contaminants and water. The detection module will automatically reset itself once the water is removed.
