This is a remote mounted Deluxe Control Panel for Newmar's TQ (Torque) Series of Inverter-Chargers.
Compared to the basic panel which comes mounted on the inverter-charger, this larger deluxe panel is easier to use, and offers 2 lines of text read-out that most users find easier to understand than the basic panel display. The basic display spells severely abbreviated words via a scrolling series of those quasi-letters, seen on old digital watches, made up of sections of LCD numbers (the ones that look like 8888 when they are all illuminated...).
The basic panel that comes with the inverter-charger can display on/off status, on/standby status, inverter output, battery voltage, lowest battery voltage, AC availability, auto sleep mode, AC current input limit, battery charger mode (Bulk, Acceptance, Float), and a variety of alarm conditions: low battery, overload, high temperature, high voltage, etc.
The "standard" display mode shows inverter consumption in Watts, and battery voltage - as four separate scrolling abbreviations. (See image.)
This deluxe Panel has the same functions as the Basic panel, but with a static display showing two lines of text (no scrolling) in full words or intuitive abbreviations, as well as dedicated buttons for some more common functions.
The Deluxe Panel measures 5-3/4"W x 3-3/4"H, and requires a 4-3/4"W x 2-3/4"H cut-out.
This kit includes the deluxe control panel, a 25 ft 8-conductor connecting cable, a cable jack plate with cable connector which replaces the basic panel that comes mounted on the inverter-charger, and an installation/operation manual. The only thing the user needs to supply is (4) four #8 fasteners appropriate for the mounting surface selected.
