Overview
While the ship's compass is used, primarily, to determine the direction in which the boat is heading, hand bearing compasses are used to take bearings on various objects or landmarks in the vicinity of the vessel. These bearings can then be used to extrapolate your position. Additionally, they can be used to determine the relative position of other boats during racing, or for collision avoidance.
• Waterproof; shockproof
• Card remains stable regardless of position or heeling of the boat
• Extremely legible card is graduated every 1°
• Wide 20° field of view accommodates rough conditions
• Reads through the prism or from above, like a standard compass
• Built-in photoluminescent light is maintenance-free, requires no batteries, does not contain tritium
• Expansion cell prevents bubble formation
• Integral lanyard
•5-year warranty
