Sikaflex-552 is a truly non-sagging, high strength, permanently elastic, hybrid (silane terminated polymer) structural adhesive.
Typical uses include bonding bulkheads, toe rails, shower stalls, cabinets, and port and hatch frames -- anywhere maximum UV resistance is desired. Otherwise use Sika's 292 structural adhesive, with its somewhat higher strength.
552 can also be used for bonding of wood or metal floors to subfloor or metallic frames, bonding of exterior or interior (yes!) panels and walls, and bonding of trim and moldings.

Compatible substrate materials include wood, metals, primers and two-part paint coatings, ceramic materials, and plastics.

• Significantly enhanced UV resistance (non-yellowing); resistant to aging and weathering
• Fast skin-over (40 minutes), high initial green strength
• Effective for large gap-filling applications
• Its permanent elasticity makes it ideal for bonding, especially dissimilar materials
• You can improve the adhesion of this product by pre-treating with Sika Cleaner 226
• Please refer to the Sika Primer Chart, on the Sika Industry USA website, for specific application information for both products and substrates

Sika has published a number of excellent technical "how to" documents for common marine applications using their Aktivators, Primers, and Adhesive/Sealants.
Topics covered include bedding and sealing hardware, rub rails, plastic windows, mineral glass windows, wood, UV exposure issues, etc.
