A unique solution to a common problem. The Dry Zinc is a permanently installed, low profile, mounting fixture for plate anodes (Diver's Dream, etc.) which prevents leaking around the transom thru-bolts due to over-tightening.
When a mounting nut is over-tightened during anode replacement, the bolt itself rotates, breaking the watertight seal around it. This allows water to leak into the structure of a plywood transom, causing rot and "weeping" around the bolt in the engine room. This problem is exacerbated with the use of multi-season bottom paints which means the boat may not be hauled for several seasons before the bolts can be re-seated.
The Dry Zinc is a stainless steel plate with the thru-transom mounting bolts welded right to it, so there is no possibility of the bolts being rotated in their holes. It completely eliminates the possibility of new leaks when the plate anodes are replaced.
• Large mounting plate ensures a permanent seal and stable anode mounting surface
• All stainless steel construction
• Triple welded studs won't leak or spin out
