A simple, yet highly effective, detector of engine compartment fumes, the MB-2 is capable of handling input from 2 sensors, and also includes a 30 amp 12V DC relay switch that can automatically turn on a bilge blower fan when fumes are detected.
In addition to gasoline fumes, it will detect unburned hydrocarbons from faulty exhaust systems, as well as hydrogen vapors emitted when batteries are overcharged.
Unlike competitive products, Xintex fume sensors are splash-proof - allowing for mounting them right in the bilge, where gasoline vapors collect. They have a proprietary coating which is resistant to incidental water splashes, but allows vapors to pass.
Although the MS-2 Sensor used in these systems can also detect propane & CNG vapors, the components of the M-series Detector Systems are geared toward gasoline. For the specialized fume detection requirements of propane & CNG heating and cooking systems, please see the Xintex S-Series Propane Detectors in a separate entry.
• The MB-2 Series systems include a 4-3/4"W x 3-3/4"H x 7/8"D rectangular dual channel display, and a single plug-in MS-2 sensor (red) with a sensor cable (20 ft is standard), an external 30A bilge blower relay switch, and a socket for an optional second MS-2 sensor
• Power On indicator lamp automatically increases in brightness during daylight and softens at night
• Factory set at 10 - 20% of lower explosive level to avoid nuisance alarms
• Sensor failure alarm
• Alarm horn mute function
