Hands down the fastest cutting, longest lasting belt for stainless steel on the market.
3M's top-of-the-line belt for stainless steel, aluminum, and softer metal applications.
These belts average up to 30% faster cutting on hard-to-grind metals than the next-best competitive belt.

Made using 3M's breakthrough Cubitron II grain abrasive, this belt cuts faster, and increases productivity compared to other leading ceramic belts.
Lasts up to 4 times as long as conventional ceramic/aluminum oxide belts.

Cubitron II is a revolutionary 3M™ precision-shaped ceramic grain technology.
It is engineered with mineral crystals that are sharp-edged, fast-cutting, and shaped like pyramids which are electrostatically oriented so they point upwards - like sharp peaks. The peaks act like individual cutting tools - slicing through metal, wearing evenly, running cooler, and providing super-long life and cutting consistency.
Mineral breakdown is optimized because, instead of getting rounded as they wear, the pyramids continuously fracture to form brand new, sharp, cutting edges — maximizing performance and belt life.

By contrast, conventional ceramic abrasive grain is irregular in shape. Instead of a clean slicing action, the grain "plows" through the metal, causing heat build up, slower cutting and shorter life. See illustration at left.

• Premium 3M™ ceramic grain belt constructed on a very heavy YF weight, water resistant laminated polyester cloth backing for added durability
• Runs cooler — diverts heat from the workpiece and belt to the swarf
• Helps eliminate burnishing and heat stress
•Note - "+" grits indicate abrasive particles of the specified grade, and finer
NOTE — These standout belts are available in many sizes (too many to list here).

How to Measure a Sanding Belt
Abrasive belts are always sized Width x Length (circumference).

To measure the Width of the belt:
1) Lay the belt on a flat surface and measure the width.

To measure the Length of the belt:
1) Make a small mark on the inside of the belt with a pen or marker
2) Make a corresponding mark on a large flat surface, benchtop or floor
3) Slowly roll the belt through a full rotation until the mark on the inside of the belt is once again touching the flat surface
4) Make a mark on the flat surface where it touches
5) Measuring between the 2 marks will give you the length of the belt
