Frearson (Reed & Prince), flat head, wood screws.
• Smaller sizes may be driven with a Phillips driver, larger sizes require a Frearson driver which, unlike large Phillips, has a straight edged taper to a sharp point
• A tapered shank screw for use exclusively in wood; the smooth shaft under head allows gap-free tightening of outer piece against the inner piece
• Flat head screws are countersunk into the material for a smooth surface
• Length is measured from the surface of the head to the end of the fastener
