How the ECO Jerry Can works...
ECO cans have a Child Resistant cap which, like a pill bottle, cannot be opened unless you are pressing down on a locking tab.
The spout contains a locking valve which seals the can and prevents accidental fuel flow - even if the can is tipped over.
To allow fuel to flow, the yellow twist-lock on the spout must be rotated to the "Unlocked" position.
Once unlocked, fuel will flow when the spout is placed in the fuel fill tube and the black prong on the spout is pressed against the edge of the fill tube - very similar to putting gas in your car.
As you remove the spout from the fuel fill tube, the spring-loaded spout valve automatically closes.
The spout also incorporates a separate internal channel to allow air to enter the jerry can as fuel is flowing out - to prevent "burping".
