Cable Gard Tilt Tube Seal

Cable Gard is a unique wiper seal that slips over the steering cable output ram of the installed steering cable and snaps onto the outboard engine tilt tube nut.
The kit includes an auxiliary brass nut which is only used if the threads on the tilt tube extend too far past the tilt tube lock nut where the cable ram exits the tilt tube.

Dirt and corrosion are sealed out while essential lubrication is sealed in the engine tilt tube - so the steering cable moves free and easy.

Coupled with regular tilt tube maintenance, a Cable Gard adds years of service to a steering cable.
A recommended accessory for most steering kits.

NOTE — This kit is designed to fit engines having a tilt tube with a minimum od 3/8" of exposed 7/8" diameter threads (7/8-14 UNF) and/or an exposed lock nut measuring 1-1/4" across the flats.
The Cable Gard will not fit engines having a recessed nut and/or threads.
