Organic Vapor Cartridge (2) - Black w/White Text

These cartridges can be used with all 3M half and full facepiece respirators equipped with bayonet fittings.
The cartridges attach directly to the bayonet fitting on the respirator.
The cartridges swept-back design keeps your field of view clear, and improves balance and weight distribution.

Some of the specialty cartridges listed below are applicable in specific industries - paper and pulp making (acid), agriculture (ammonia), carpet making (formaldehyde), etc.
These cartridges are not for use in IDLH environments (immediately dangerous to life or health).
For maximum effectiveness, they should be used with full facepiece respirators which have been quantitatively fit-tested.
Read and understand the User Instructions for each cartridge type for specific limitations and occupational regulations before using.

Note that these cartridges are not designed to filter dust and particulates.
They require the addition of a pre-filter for particulate protection.

• 6001 - activated carbon filter for protection from certain organic vapors (does not protect from particulates)
• 6002 - specially treated activated carbon filter chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, chlorine dioxide, or hydrogen sulfide
• 6003 - specially treated activated carbon filter for protection from certain organic vapors, as well as chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, or hydrogen fluoride
• 6004 - specially treated activated carbon filter for protection from ammonia and methylamine; (not approved for organic vapors)
• 6005 - specially treated activated carbon filter for protection from formaldehyde and certain organic vapors
• 6006 - simplifies cartridge selection by combining the protection offered by five different cartridges into one: specially treated activated carbon filter for protection from certain organic vapors, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, ammonia, methylamine, or formaldehyde
• All cartridges are sold in pairs


Heavy on the technical side...
When to replace your cartridges:
The service life of a chemical or vapor cartridge is dependent on so many variables that, unfortunately, there is no single answer for when to replace your cartridge.
1) In the workplace, replace in accordance with an established company, industry, or government change schedule
2) Cartridges should certainly be replaced if you detect odor, taste, or experience irritation from contaminants.
3) Cartridges that remain factory sealed should be replaced by the expiration date on the package.
4) Once opened, chemical and vapor cartridges can absorb chemicals from the air — even if they are not being used, or are only used intermittantly.
Prudence dictates that, once opened or used, cartridges should be replaced within a reasonable time period.
5) The only definitive way to determine a replacement interval is to perform a quantitative air quality test in the environment where the cartridge is used.

• Write the date the cartridge package was opened on the cartridge, for a reference
• Store cartridges in an airtight container when not in use. Keep them clean, cool, dry, and away from direct sunlight
• Factory sealed cartridges have a theoretical shelf life of 5 years from date of manufacture
