5" Hookit Medium Backing Pad - 5/8-11 Int. Thread

For use with 5 inch diameter Hookit™ pads and discs, on tools with a 5/8-11 shaft, and a maximum speed of 12,000 rpm.

This pad enables you to use a standard 5/8-11 grinder with standard Hookit discs for a variety of fine sanding and polishing applications.
When you want to transition beyond grinding without changing tools, the 85105 pad lets you use Hookit discs with medium and finer grits that you just can't get in a fibre grinding disc.
This pad, used with an apppropriate ascending disc sequence can take SS plate all the way to a near polished surface, ready to follow with cotton rouge.

However, you must exercise caution so as to not overheat and distort, or melt, this foam pad.
We generally recommend using this pad with fine and medium grit sanding discs.
Using coarse grits has the potential to generate too much heat.

Made with a medium density foam - best for flat sanding.
The 45° bevel on this thicker disc makes for a softer edge with good "featheredging" capability for blending.
