Perfect-It Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax

When a brilliant finish and durable protection are needed for gelcoat surfaces with light oxidation, or previously refined to P1500 and finer scratch profiles, 3M Perfect-It Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax is the perfect solution for light or dark colored gelcoat.
This improved formulation has longer wet working times and offers easier clean up, and less dust, while using less product – even in warm climates.

Specifically formulated for boats, RVs, and industrial gelcoats. Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax is ideal for one-step processes for minor gelcoat refinishing when you want a durable wax finish.
It quickly removes minor defects such as light scratches, oxidation, chalking, and water marks while providing a durable protective wax finish with a high gloss.

For DIY light oxidation removal, apply by hand using a Perfect-It Detailing Cloth (3M 06016). If desired, can also be applied using a buffer, see below.*
Always use a dry microfiber 3M High Performance Cloth or a VERY soft rag to remove any remaining residue or sling before it dries.

Note — Contains silicone, which may cause primers or paints to "fisheye", or lose adhesion, if you decide to paint over your gelcoat at some point in the future.


*For professional multi-step jobs on heavily oxidized gelcoat, sand with 800 grit finishing film discs (DA sander set at 900-1100 RPM) followed by Perfect-It Gelcoat Heavy Cutting Compound applied with a white wool pad, or 1500 grit Trizact discs (DA sander set at 900-1100 RPM). Back the sanding discs with a soft foam interface pad.
After 1500 grit profile buffing, Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax can be used as an alternative to the final (separate) polishing and waxing steps. Apply Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax using a yellow wool buffing pad with a buffer speed between 1200 and 2000 max. RPM.
