Description
Backstay insulators are used at the top and bottom of sailboat backstays to convert the backstay into an efficient Single Sideband (SSB) two-way radio antenna.
In all sizes the insulator body is stronger than the swage fitting and the guaranteed break strain far exceeds that of premium grade wire.
These insulaotrs are constructed of swage studs threaded into the insulator body.
The insulator body is made from high strength Delrin® and will handle well in excess of the authorized radio power input from 1 to 30 MHz.
The outer sleeve of 501 alloy is stainless steel is powder-coated to withstand extreme temperature and weather conditions.
Long leakage paths, low moisture absorption result in exceptional efficiency.
Swage studs are 18-8 MO type 316 stainless steel
Power Ratings - 500 Watts CW and AM; 1 KW P.E.P.
