Lag screws are also known as lag bolts. These lag screws are hex head and made out of TrueTitanium(TM), specifically Grade 2 (CP) Titanium. The (CP) means the titanium is commercially pure (99% pure). It has a yield strength of 39,900 PSI (275 MPa), about the same strength as stainless steel.
Allied Titanium first developed these lag screws to attach spreaders to sailboat masts made out of wood. Titanium is corrosion free and compatible with all living things, so when used in wood, it doesn't cause the wood to deteriorate like steel, stainless steel or galvanized steel does. This is exactly why Allied's customer wanted to use titanium in his beautiful wood masts.
TRUE TITANIUM(TM) is a trademark to establish that this product is manufactured from solid Titanium, rather than a coating, plating or color. TRUE TITANIUM, Tough-Ti, the AT Logo, the Ring around our high strength screws, LOOK FOR THE RING, AFFORDABLE TITANIUM NOW and ALLIED TITANIUM are all trademarks of Allied Titanium, Inc
