Auto Shackle Type 2 Remote Release - Size L, 4,400 lb WLL

The Auto Shackle Type 2 was developed for use in situations where a sein skiff is attached to the main ship while sein fishing, and needs to have the capability of instant release when required.

The key feature of the Auto Shackle Type 2 is its release mechanism. From a remote location, by pulling on a cord attached to a release lever hidden inside the shackle body, you can open the gate instantly.
To increase its functionality,the shackle was designed so you can pull the release cord from any direction to release the gate, and you can accomplish this with very little effort - due to the exceptionally long release lever. No small engineering feat, this mechanism is much more difficult to design than it sounds.
Unlike competing shackles with protruding relase levers, there is no risk that the net or a rope might snag on the lever with the Auto Shackle Type 2.
In addition, the Auto Shackle Type 2 can be opened using a spike or other similar tool. An optional lock pin can prevent the gate from being opened by accident.

• Material - SCS24 (SUS630) special stainless steel - selected for its high strength and abrasion/corrosion resistance (for a 2 ton working load) and low weight
• This shackle can also be used in other onboard applications where connection and release operations are required.

NOTE — In extreme shock loading situations, the shackle gate may open unintentionally. We recommend using the optional lock pin (inserts in a hole in the body) when sudden loads on connected objects or the hardware are expected, or when the gate does not need to be opened for a long time. The lock pin is sold separately (Part #AK18231B9).

NOTE — This product is purpose-designed for commercial fishing. Do not use it for cargo handling.
