While renowned for its classic “Awlgrip” topcoat with its stunning, mirror-like reflection that showcases the skills of elite applicators, with Awlcraft SE,
Awlgrip has recognized the market demand for a faster drying coating that is easier to use and maintain while providing the same exquisite finish.
Awlcraft SE is a revolutionary polyurethane color basecoat with a boundless palette of striking colors. It is designed to work as the base layer in a simple 2-part Basecoat/Clear Overcoat system which, unlike many others, is designed specifically for marine applications.
The Awlcraft SE provides the color, and the required clear overcoat – either Awlcraft 2000 Clear or the new Awlgrip HDT Clearcoat – provides UV protection and durability for long-lasting, fade resistant colors.
The tough, clear topcoat also provides scratch resistance and most notably – the pronounced gloss and depth of color for which Awlgrip paints are famous.
The range of Awlcraft SE basecoats includes solid colors, as well as special effect metal flakes and pearlescents to enhance the look of any boat.
Although Awlcraft SE colors are often custom mixed by Fisheries Supply to match existing vessel colors or to create custom colors, we also offer popular colors as pre-mixed formulations:
This entry features pre-mixed Metalic (Metal Flake) Blacks.
Fast Drying –
The Awlcraft SE basecoat dries to the touch in just 15 minutes at 77°F, so you can apply multiple basecoat layers in one day which can then be clear-coated after as little as 1 hour,
