EnviroShrink biodegradable shrink wrap is made from 100% virgin resin and offers 12 months of UV protection.

The landfill-biodegradable variant of EnviroShrink shrink wrap was subjected to independent testing by a laboratory accredited under ISO 17025. The evaluation utilized ASTM D5511 to assess its anaerobic biodegradation in a controlled laboratory environment. The findings indicated a biodegradation rate of 46% within 60 days.

How the biodegradation process works: An additive is incorporated into the plastic during manufacturing. This additive attracts naturally occurring bacteria in anaerobic environments, such as landfills and soil. Once exposed to these conditions, the bacteria begin breaking down and consuming the plastic. After digestion, no microplastics remain– only biomass is left as a byproduct. In simple terms, once the film is trashed/discarded and reaches a landfill, the degradation process begins naturally.
