The primary use of the Liftoff is to create an air space between the shrink wrap and the object it is covering. The benefit of this separation is to promote air circulation and surface protection.
Air circulation is extremely important on painted boat hulls where shrink wrap touching the paint can cause blistering.
On RVs and machinery, shrink wrap moving against the surface during storage and transportation can cause damage -- the Liftoff prevents this.
In use, the Liftoff supports the strapping which, in turn, supports the shrink wrap. Soft plastic feet prevent surface damage.
