What is Starlock?
Fein Starlock is a new tool holder standard for multi-functional oscillating power tools - like the MultiMaster.
The Starlock system offers several advantages for the user when used with Fein's upcoming SuperCut Construction oscillating tools (available in late 2016). These include "snap-on" installation and lever-activated blade ejection — for 3 second tool-less blade changes, with no loose parts to handle (no blade screw). This convenience can increase work output by as much as 25% in production applications.

The Starlock system is backwards compatible, and has no disadvantages for existing Fein tool owners.

Starlock Blade Series Compatibility with Fein and Competing Oscillating Tools
Starlock system accessories are available in three classifications, depending on the length, weight, and stresses placed on the blade during use. This helps assure a proper machine-to-accessory power match and protects against overload and tool damage. Low power accessories will fit on many tools, but high power (high stress) accessories will only fit on high power tools:
• Starlock Accessories - have Fein's 8-star pattern, as well as a circular 12-pin multi-mount hole pattern on a raised base. They will fit all Fein tools as well as all popular competitor oscillators - without adapters - and significantly improve their performance in most cases
The list of compatible oscillator brands includes Bosch, Craftsman, Makita, Milwaukee, Rigid, Ryobi, and Skil
• Starlock Plus Accessories - have Fein's 8-star pattern on a raised base. These are typically larger/wider blades for higher power tools and will fit all Fein tools as well as a few competing tools (adapters may be required)
• Starlock Max Accessories - have a 2-prong mount on a raised base and fit only Fein's new SuperCut Construction tools (available in late 2016)
