2400 Series Round Liftout Hatches, 30", Steel Ring / Compression Seal

Round hatch sizes 8", 12", and 15" are ideal for quick-acting access into shaft alleys for fish sorting, void inspection, ventilation and access to valving, piping, wiring, controls, and other areas where seaworthy security is required.

Standard models have a cast aluminum cover, aluminum dogging mechanism and your choice of cast aluminum or steel mounting rings.
• Aluminum Deck Rings are intended to be weld installed into aluminum decks and bolt installed into other deck materials
• Steel Deck Rings are to be weld installed into steel decks only

18", 20" and 24" round clear opening manhole-sized access hatches are ideal for entry and escape of all types, especially when a person must be able to pass through the opening.
Escape route applications, storage access, lazarette access, fish sorting, and many more applications are common installations.
An optional escape handle can be attached to the underside of the 18" and larger hatches if required.

Compression Seal 2400 Series Hatches
These hatches have easy-to-clean spigots, feature long gasket life, and are economical to purchase.
• Watertight seal to 30 foot intermittent head, continuous 10 foot head top-loaded pressure (on properly installed and adjusted hatch assemblies)

Knife-edge Seal 2400 Series Hatches
These hatches feature a coaming with drain gutter and an aggressive sealing rim edge. A drain fitting can be installed to minimize water from entering enclosure when hatch is initially opened.


Features unique to Freeman Hatches
• The built-in, pocketed stainless steel T-handle is permanently part of the hatch. Pulling up on the handle and turning it less than 1/4 turn disengages the locking mechanism. The alignment of the handle shows whether the dogging arms are engaged or disengaged.
• Evenly spaced dogging arms exert uniform sealing pressure on the cover plate with no binding or jamming of parts.
• Each dogging arm can be individually adjusted to ensure even presure on the gasket sealing surface.
Adjusted to the proper tension, a Freeman hatch can't be over or under tightened by mistake.
