Type H Wireless Steering System - for Boats with Hydraulic Steering

Typically installed on boats with outboard engines, but applicable to other installations, IntelliSteer Wireless Controllers free you from the need to hand steer your boat from the helm.
IntelliSteer provides wireless jog steering via a handheld pendant from anywhere on the boat - even below deck.

This Type H IntelliSteer System adds push-button control to your hydraulic steering. It is designed to work with any 2-line hydraulic steering system typically found on larger outboards and I/O sterndrives.
The H System does this by tapping into the existing hydraulic hoses and adding its own small hydraulic steering pump - which is controlled wirelessly.
The Type H System works with both single and twin helm station applications.

If you do not have hydraulic steering on your boat, there are other IntelliSteer systems which bundle an IntelliSteer Wireless Controller with a specially designed steering drive unit.
These include:
• IntelliSteer Type R - provides remote steering for kicker or smaller primary outboards
• IntelliSteer Type S - provides a helm replacement for remote steering of boats with traditional wheel steering via a cable to the outboard or sterndrive

How it works...
This IntelliSteer Type H system integrates with an hydraulic steering system by replacing the existing straight helm pump hose fittings with tee fittings and, using the supplied hydraulic hoses, connecting a small Octopus brand hydraulic pump to the steering system.
The Octopus pump, in turn, is wired to the "black box" IntelliSteer Wireless Receiver/Pump Controller - which receives wireless signals from the handheld pendant.
When not steering with the handheld pendant, your original hydraulic steering system still functions normally.

If desired, a second Wireless Controller Pendant can be added to the system. It can be "paired" to your existing receiver in the field.

The "black box" IntelliSteer Wireless Controller is designed to be used with any reversing steering drive unit requiring less than 25A peak operating current, whether mechanical or hydraulic.
IntelliSteer systems are not suitable for use on boats with a positive ground system.
NOTE — Do not install this unit on vessels whose top speed exceeds 40 mph, or whose engine exceeds the size recommended by the hull manufacturer.
