VC Underwater Epoxy - Hard Smooth Underwater Finish, 1/2 Gallon Kit
VC Performance Underwater Epoxy is a two-part, low friction PTFE-bearing epoxy that provides the perfect hard racing finish on boats that do not require antifouling. It is specifically designed to be used on the underwater surfaces of performance power boats and racing sailboats.
VC Performance Underwater Epoxy dries to a white, somewhat slippery, semi-gloss, hard and durable finish ideal for wet sanding and polishing. The fluoro-microadditive provides lubricity and eases wet sanding and burnishing.
VC Performance Epoxy has no antifouling or foul release properties.
This paint is ideal for go fast (cigarette, etc.) boats, and is also very popular with big offshore pelagic fishing vessels. These owners typically have the boat scrubbed down by a diver prior to every trip and are looking for the smooth, fast, fuel-efficient bottom that this product provides.
VC Perfomance Underwater Epoxy is also ideal for trailered or rack-stored boats which typically aren't left in the water and don't require antifouling as it is easy to clean, can withstand vigorous scrubbing, and won't blister like a topside paint will.
If you are looking for a similar performing hard, smooth paint, but with the added benefit of an antifouling biocide to reduce the need for scrubbing, check out Interlux's VC Offshore.
Sailboaters who desire an exceptionally slick and smooth coating, designed for polishing should consider Interlux VC Regatta Baltoplate.
