Button Anode

The Button Maddox Anode is a low-voltage anode that improves anode performance, thereby enhancing the efficiency of cathodic protection and minimizing problems related to overprotection. Overprotection may manifest as coating failures on metallic structures, haloing around thru-hulls, and excessive growth on underwater surfaces. In wooden boats, overprotection can lead to alkaline degradation and delignification due to excessive zinc application.

The Maddox Anode is characterized by its distinctive shape and construction, which are specifically designed to maximize surface area for optimal performance, efficiency, and durability. Being zinc-less and free from cadmium, the Maddox Anode represents the most environmentally responsible option for cathodic protection.

When installed on bow and stern thrusters made of bronze and stainless steel, users will notice reduced growth and significantly enhanced coating performance. The Button Maddox Anode includes a 0.24-inch (6mm) hole to facilitate easy installation.

• Maddox anodes cannot be used on Aluminium hulls, drives, or parts.
