Especially important on metal hulled vessels, but offering significant benefits for all boats, Isolation Transformers protect the metal fittings on any boat from potentially dangerous galvanic corrosion.
They do this by electrically isolating the onboard AC sytem from the connected shore power AC system, while still maintaining the safety provided by the shore power AC green grounding wire.
Suitable for 120V and 230V AC systems, rated at 16A/3.5 kVA per unit, up to 4 units can be parallel coupled for higher capacity. Two 16A/3.5 kVA units correspond to 32A/7 kVA, four units give 64 A/14 kW.
Modern transformer technology: Light, silent, reliable and easy
The Mass GI incorporates the latest high-frequency switching technology as well as automatic ramp-up Soft Start to eliminate high inrush currents when connecting to the grid.
The transformer can be remote controlled and has the option of automatically starting the generator when there is an AC current overload.
Units can be parallel coupled for higher capacity
Parallel switching of the Mass GI units increases the AC power capacity.
Two 16 A/3.5 kW units ensure 32 A/7 kW, four units give 64 A/14 kW.
The Mass GI is 75% lighter and 60% smaller than comparable low frequency transformers
With its robust aluminium casing, this isolation transformer can be fitted in any position on wall or floor.
No rubber mountings are necessary because the unit does not vibrate or hum.
The Mass GI also features professional connections with strain relief cable glands.
• Ultra modern high-frequency electronic switch technology - no humming noise
• Connect to voltages from 90 to 255V, and from 45 to 65Hz
• Higher efficiency results in limited heat production
• LED lights on the casing indicate load and overload
• Exceptionally lightweight and compact (only 13.2 lb)
• Features marine aluminium casing
• Low standby current consumption
