Extremely Low Self-Discharge: The dormant/self-discharge characteristics of Pale Blue batteries are very low. This is one of the advantages of a lithium-ion battery with an internal control circuit vs. an alkaline or NiMH battery, where the cell discharges directly into the device (with no control circuit). Although high ambient temperatures, and high humidity, can increase the internal drain, in normal circumstances a Pale Blue battery installed in a device, like a door lock, will last about 12 months before needing to be re-charged.
