Bowl Heat Deflector for Racor MA Style Turbine Filters

These are replacement heat deflectors for MA-style 500, 900 and 1000 series turbine filters in the event that the original deflector is damaged or needs replacing.

Note that installing a heat deflector on an industrial style FG series turbine filter with a plastic collection bowl as an added safety precaution, would NOT upgrade the filter to an MA style filter on a Coast Guard inspected vessel, as the required UL sticker that comes on all MA-style turbine filters would not be present.

These deflectors are only for use with bowls that have an SAE J1926 O-ring drain port gland (threadless groove for the O-ring) at the bottom of the bowl - otherwise a fuel leak may occur.
If you have an older filter bowl without an O-ring gland (the drain port is threaded all the way to the bottom), then you must replace the plastic collection bowl with the new style that will accept the O-ring seal before installing a heat shield; see Related Products, below.

• This kit includes: heat deflector, brass securing/drain fitting, deflector gasket (green), bowl O-ring seal (red), drain port plug.
• Heat deflectors for 500MA series turbine filters are 5-1/2" in diameter
• Heat deflectors for 900MA and 1000MA series turbine filters are 6-1/4" in diameter and have black rubber bumpers
• A petcock valve and hose barb can be retrofitted to the drain port for convenience, if desired.
