Downrigger Weight Retriever

A great helper and safety precaution for the downrigger fisherman.
When your boom is extended, this unique device brings the weight in to the gunwhale for rigging lines, and then releases without having to lean out over the water.

The weight line is rigged through the floating yellow fairlead which remains at the surface when the weight is deployed.
When the ball is raised out of the water, use the attached captive line to pull the weight into the rail and hold it there "hands-free" using the clamcleat.
