Description
Overheat protection – automatic detection of overheating of internal components.
When an unsafe temperature is detected, this switch automatically shuts the thruster off to prevent damage from overheating.
This replacement thermo switch is used in SP30, SP40 and SE30, SE40 On/Off Thrusters with K-Type motors. It is used in 12 volt systems.
There are three versions of motors utilized on Sleipner (Side-Power) Thrusters; the different motor versions are referred to as “K”, “S” or “R” versions.
Knowing your motor version is necessary in order to source the correct replacement Thermo-Switch, Brushes, and Brush Springs.
All other parts are interchangeable among the motor versions.
“K” version motors have a ventilated top cap on the motor that encloses the brush assembly. The cap is held in place by either two or four bolts.
“K” version motors have a total of eight brushes and springs; four sets of two brushes, each brush holder has two brushes and two brush springs.
Exception: Models SP30S and SP40S “K” type motors have a total of four brushes.
