The purpose of the oval shape is to provide extra height to allow the oar blade to be raised higher during recovery to clear waves.

• Can be used with oars up to a 2" loom (shaft diameter)
• Constant contact on both sides of the horn means smooth, coordinated stroke with no annoying ratcheting; the oar stays in place with no walk-in
• Expanded height increases oar angle to approximately 30° keeping oars in the water longer and deeper
• Improved top clearance lessens stress on the sides of boat as well as the rower's shoulders
