The Quickstay provides an easy and fast way to connect and disconnect small boat standing rigging - such as stays and shrouds on trailerable boats and running backstays. This eliminates the need to struggle with clevis pins, split rings, or cotter pins when connecting and disconnecting standing rigging. The Quickstay can be used in conjunction with existing calibrated or regular turnbuckles.
Each model of Quickstay is designed to have a breaking strength greater than that of the largest recommended cable size. This includes both standard 1 x 19 stainless steel cables as well as Dyform cables.
• The currently available QS22 version of the Quickstay has a breaking strength of 2,200 lb and is suitable for cable sizes up to 1/8" or 3 mm
• Available with either an eye or fork style lower connector to fit a variety of chainplates or toggle connections
• Three larger sizes that will accommodate cables up to 3/8" and 10 mm diameter will be available in the future
How it works —
To disconnect a stay or shroud:
Loosen the turnbuckle or pull on the rigging to create some slack in the stay.
Loosen the lock nut at the bottom of the Quickstay fitting.
Twist the fitting 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to disengage the locking pins on the fitting, then pull to separate the fitting
Reverse these steps to engage the fitting when stepping the mast or reconnecting a running back
