A unique tape construction allows for both permanent and temporary applications.
It is removeable with little or no adhesive residue from most opaque surfaces for up to 1 year in indoor applications.
3M 8979 Duct Tape is also UV resistant for 6 months outdoors.
• Will not delaminate or deteriorate in sunlight for up to a year
• Hand tearable
• Conformable, abrasion resistant and moisture resistant; 12.6 mil thickness
• Curl resistant - easy to handle and apply
• Rubber adhesive bonds well to many surfaces with excellent initial stick
• Polyethylene film over cloth scrim backing
• Can be used in temperatures up to 200°F
• 2" rolls are individually wrapped so they don't stick; 3" rolls are not wrapped
• Available in Nuclear Grade (#8979N) for utility critical containment applications
