These flat washers are TRUE TITANIUM(TM), specifically Grade 2 (CP) titanium. Flat washers are designed to spread the pressure of a bolt or screw under the head. If the washer starts corroding, then the washer fails and the head of the fastener starts to dip into whatever is under it. You have probably seen this. A bigger problem occurs when washer actually cracks due to corrosion and then comes completely loose.
With titanium, the problems go away completely, because titanium is corrosion free, even in saltwater. Titanium has been in common use in the aerospace industry for decades, but it has only been recently that titanium has become affordable enough for the average mechanic.
