One of the unique features of "Classic" Bennet Trim Tabs is the use of concealed through-transom hydraulics - where the tubing to the trim tab actuator cylinder connects to the actuator head via a direct fitting on the inside of the transom.
In some boats, however, access to the rear of the transom is blocked, making it impossible to gain the necessary access to the hydraulic fittings for mounting purposes.
For such instances, Bennet offers these "EX" Trim Tab Kits where the actuators have an external line connection. This avoids the inaccessibility problem by allowing the hydraulics to pass through the transom at a location where there is no obstruction.

Installing Bennett Trim Tabs decreases the time in "transition mode" between displacement and planing, increases speed, and smooths a rough ride by lowering the bow. This is all in addition to saving money due to the resulting increase in fuel efficiency.

Selection of the correct trim tab is up to the boat owner but is based on power, engine configuration, weight distribution, type of boat and use.
If faced with more than one trim tab size, the largest trim tab that will comfortably fit on the transom will be the most efficient.
