500A ML-ACR Automatic Charging Relay w/ Manual Override - 12V, Retail
These 500 Amp magnetic latching (bi-stable) Automatic Charge Relays with Manual Control automatically manage the charging of two large battery banks.
They do this by sensing system voltages and automatically combining batteries during charging, and isolating batteries when discharging and when engine starting.
The Manual Control feature on this version of the ML-ACR provides the ability to temporarily override the ACR for emergency low-voltage engine starting, or for battery servicing. See Related Products, below.
The Magnetic Latching (ML) feature allows them to draw very low current (<40mA to monitor terminal voltage) in the "ON" or "OFF" states due to continuous passive assistance from the magnet to keep it there, and draw moderate current for a very short time when changing On/Off states.
In Start Isolation mode, can be configured for temporary isolation of house loads from the engine circuit during engine cranking to protect sensitive electronics.
In Engine Isolation mode, can be configured for isolation of two engines while both are running to protect engine electronics and maximize alternator output.
• Senses charging on two battery banks
• Supports high-output alternators up to 500 amps continuous
• LED output on remote Contura switch indicates when batteries are combined, isolated, in voltage lockout, or in Start or Engine isolation configuration
• Recesses for adhesive circuit identification labels
• Silver alloy contacts provide high reliability for switching live loads
Retail packaged units include an On/Off/On SPDT Remote Control Contura Switch (#2146) and have bare wire leads.
Bulk packaged units do not come with a switch and have a cable terminating in a Deutsch DTM Cable Connector which can be cut off, if desired. Other connector plugs are available for high volume OEM applications.
