Fender Eye with Square Base - Plain Bronze

Cast in gunmetal, a type of bronze, which consists of copper (85%), lead (5%), tin (5%) and zinc (5%), this pad eye can be mounted on the outside of a bulwark to hang fenders, or used as a tie-down point, or to mount a block.

Gunmetal is a favored material to use for traditional boat fittings because it takes casting, machining, and polishing very well.
It is relatively strong and very resistant to salt water - so it does its job for a very long time.
