10 Circuit ESC Shutdown System - (2) 30A, (8) 10A

The ESC Series of Automatic Engine Shutdown combines features of both the ES and ELS Series of Shutdown Systems, and adds a few additional ones. They feature 2A relays for shutting down electronically controlled diesel engines, as well as 30A relays for fuel flow solenoids on mechanically controlled diesels. Compressed gas suppressants, such as FE-241® and HRC-227ea, will not stall a diesel engine.
If fire breaks out aboard a diesel-powered vessel, the engine must be shut down immediately.
A running diesel will continue to pump fuel into the engine compartment.
A running diesel also consumes large quantities of air, and can actually suck the extinguishing agent right out of the engine compartment — allowing for possible re-ignition.
Any running engine compartment blowers exacerbate the problem. Featuring an ISO 54 Enclosure, fuses, internal terminals, Heyco™ wire connectors, along with a see thru cover to easy observe circuit board mounted L.E.D.’s which indicate circuit board and Fireboy Extinguisher status, or that a fault condition exists. Non-energized relays. A combination of models including 6, 8, and 10 circuits. Select from a combination of relays; 15 amp and 2 amp gold plated relays, (operating range 10 uA to 2 amps).

The ES model comes with a choice of either a round or square helm station display.

The Fireboy engine shutdown/override system relays switch status when activated, and the fireboy extinguisher pressure switch circuit is closed. Please be aware that engine shutdown models can be equipped with a delay feature for some diesel engines with fuel solenoids that can be damaged from continuous voltage.

What is engine shutdown?

Engine shutdown can be particularly beneficial in reducing the impact of fires that are made worse by hydraulic fluids or fuel. If a fire starts due to a broken hydraulic line or a malfunctioning fuel line part, a running engine will only worsen the situation by supplying more fluid or fuel to the fire.
