MA Series FK-5-1-12 Clean Agent System, Standard Height - 550 cu ft

Providing valuable peace of mind, these pre-enginered, complete fire suppression systems are the fastest and safest way to automatically detect and combat an engine room fire!
Charged with the newest environmentally-friendly FK-5-1-12 clean agent, these systems provide automatic flooding of any protected space that would benefit from a fire suppression system.
Typical applications include engine rooms, generator or battery compartments, paint lockers, etc.

Each of these pre-engineerd MA2 systems (second generation of the MA Series) is designed to protect an enclosed space with a specific volume.
They are permantently installed (not portable).
If the temperature within the protected space rises above 175°F, the system automatically discharges to extinguish the fire...often before you even realize a fire has occurred.
Compared to the "Automatic Only" CG Series of extinguishers, these MA2 Series systems offer the ability to manually activate the system via a pull-cable in the rare instances where you might detect the beginnings of a fire, before the engine room temperature has reached 175°F.

Environmentally friendly FK-5-1-12 has a global warming potential of less than 1, a dramatic improvement over HFC-227, making it compliant with evolving environmental regulations.

About FK-5-1-12 Clean Agent - Don’t Just Manage A Fire. Extinguish It.
FK-5-1-12 Clean Extinguishing Agent is a highly-effective clean fire suppressant, designed to extinguish a fire in its incipient stage before it has a chance to spread.
FK-5-1-12 Clean Extinguishing Agent evaporates more than 50 times faster than water. Transitions from a liquid to a gaseous state in less than 10 seconds when discharged, and quickly achieves vapor extinguishing concentrations in the air.

WARNING: Vessels with equipment that draws air from within the protected space (such as a running engine, genset or blower) require the installation of an Automatic Engine Shutdown System. See Related Products.
In the event of a fire, continued engine or ventilation system operation can remove the agent, lowering the concentration to below what is required to effectively extinguish the fire.

Selecting Your System
1) Determine the volume of your engine compartment in cubic feet or cubic meters, L x W x H. Do NOT deduct for engines, fixed tanks, or other equipment.
2) Choose your model from the FK-5-1-12 size chart in the Brochure or from the spec table, below.
Example: MA0550NVC-F = automatic discharge with optional manual discharge, 550 cubic feet coverage.

3) Determine the length of Manual Release Cable needed to easily reach from the fire extinguisher to the main helm station. (Must be purchased separatley.)
4) Remember: The USCG requires craft with equipment that draws intake air from within the protected space to have an Automatic Engine Shutdown System installed.
Models over 1,000 cu ft require the installation of a manual release cable.
