American Yachting Anchor, 7 lbs. (<24 ft. Boat), Blue
Description
Based on Richard Danforth's original 1939 design, the American Yachting Series anchors are a classic all-purpose fluke anchor, with the added benefit of a vinyl coating to protect boat finishes.
Anchor chain should always be used with steel fluke anchors to provide weight necessary to maintain the proper rode angle for setting. While some manufacturers recommend less, a good starting point is a length of chain equal to the boat's length. Fluke anchors require a scope of at least 5:1 (rope length to water depth) in order to set properly. 7:1 scope is recommended.
