Pacifica Plus - Ablative Seasonal Antifouling

Pacifica Plus is a copper-free antifouling paint that provides excellent seasonal protection from both shell and weed fouling – even in high-fouling, warm water conditions.
It prevents fouling by using two biocides: Biolux® zinc pyrithione to combat weed growth and slime, and Econea® which specifically targets hard shell fouling such as barnacles and zebra mussels.

Pacifica Plus is fast drying, has a high solids content (so you're not just paying for a bunch of solvents), and has been formulated to meet the most stringent VOC regulations in the country. It uses the exact amount of copper-free biocides to provide a combination of environmental intelligence and maximum protection.
In addition, Pacifica Plus' ablative character prevents coating buildup with repeated applications.

Pacifica Plus can be thought of as a "value oriented" version of Interlux's Micron CF, which is also copper-free. Pacifica can be applied to all typical hull materials and can be used on all types of boats when the full, controlled-release ablative package found in the multi-season Micron CF is not required.
As such, it is an excellent replacement for other mid-level, copper-free ablative bottom paints.

Heavy on the technical side...

Pacifica Plus can be used as an antifouling on outdrives and outboards below the waterline after cleaning with Special Thinner 216, sanding with 80 grit sandpaper, and priming with 2 - 3 coats of Primacon Primer. Then 2 coats of Pacifica Plus can be applied. See Related Products, below.

When applying to an aluminum hull, Interlux recommends a thorough cleaning and degreasing with Solvent Wash 202, sanding with 40 to 60 grit sandpaper, priming with Interprotect 2000E thinned with Reducing Solvent 2316N (1 - 2 coats), and then applying 2 - 3 coats of Pacifica Plus.
