18" Dia. Hard Shell Chain Through Mooring Buoy - 87 lb Buoyancy

This tube-style mooring buoy incorporates a hollow 3" PVC tube through which the mooring chain is run to the top end of the buoy.
The chain is then attached to user-supplied hardware (such as C/J#4000 Protective Collar and Ring), which allows for convenient access to the strong point for connecting the mooring lines.

• Tube-style keeps the "strong point" out of the water, and easy to grab
• Hard outer shell is seamless and almost indestructible
• Core is 3 lb/ft³ high density polyurethane foam
• Buoy does not come with any hardware

Unlike rod systems, where the only reliable attachment point is at the bottom of the buoy, "chain through the buoy" systems incorporate a hollow tube through which the mooring chain is run to the top of the buoy where, with appropriate attachment hardware, you can safely and conveniently attach your mooring pendant(s) for easier pick-ups.
To protect the top of the tube and the buoy from possible chain chafing, we recommend using one of the protective buoy collars or plates we sell.
