The Lavac Toilet has long been a favorite with sailors throughout the world, providing their owners with years of trouble-free use. One of the simplest marine toilets to operate, it requires virtually no maintenance.
Lavac toilets work on a patented vacuum flushing system. After use, simply close the Lavac seat and lid and then operate the pump handle a few times. As waste is pumped out a vacuum is formed which draws in the flushing water. Wait a few seconds and the vacuum breaks. It's that simple. The only moving part in the Lavac is the diaphragm within the detached heavy duty pump.
Like all Lavac Marine Toilets the Popular Model has a high quality porcelain bowl and is powered by a heavy duty Henderson Mark V type diaphragm pump. The Popular has been engineered to reduce costs but not performance. No modifications are necessary to the toilet to convert from manual to electric, just change the pump. Two pump styles are available, the underdeck (U/D) or top action (T/A) which is a surface mount.
• Years of trouble-free use; no tiny pistons or leaky rod and valve seals
• Uses only three pints of water per flush (in a typical installation)
• Available in two manual pump styles
• Pump can be plumbed to double as a holding tank discharge pump, or even an emergency bilge pump!
