Maddox Transom Anode, Standard (11.8"/300mm)

The Maddox Anode is a low-voltage anode that improves anode performance, thereby enhancing the efficiency of cathodic protection and minimizing problems related to overprotection. Overprotection may manifest as coating failures on metallic structures, haloing around thru-hulls, and excessive growth on underwater surfaces. In wooden boats, overprotection can lead to alkaline degradation and delignification due to excessive zinc application.

The Maddox Anode is characterized by a distinctive shape and construction that aims to maximize surface area for optimal performance, efficiency, and durability. Being zinc-less and free from cadmium, the Maddox Anode represents the most environmentally responsible option for cathodic protection.

Each Maddox Anode is supplied with locking washers that are essential for proper installation. It is strongly advised to utilize the Marine Protection Systems (MPS) Conductive Grease to ensure the durability of the connection and facilitate the replacement of the anode.
