Autopilot drive units, under the control of the course computer, actually apply the steering corrections to your boat's steering system. The first step in selecting a Raymarine SmartPilot™ autopilot is selecting the proper drive unit for your vessel. You will need to determine the type of steering system you have installed in your vessel. Raymarine SmartPilots accommodate virtually all steering systems: hydraulic, mechanical and power assisted stern drive steering systems.
Drive units for hydraulically steered boats are available in several sizes and are designed to match the capacity of the vessel's existing hydraulic ram(s).
