Ronstan sailmaker's thimbles differ from conventional thimbles because they have a continuous design without sharp edges or angles that can pinch and hold lines. This circular design makes them perfect for creating chafe-protected loops in running rigging lines. Each stainless steel ring has a deep trough to capture the line and securely hold the thimble within the loop.

Splicing these thimbles into the loop of twelve-strand line is likely the easiest method, but they can also be spliced into nearly any type of rope.
