Jaw & Jaw Turnbuckles are utilized for the purpose of adjusting the tension and/or length of ropes and cables. They are comprised of two threaded bolts that are screwed into either end of a metal body, with one bolt featuring a left-hand thread and the other a right-hand thread. The tension can be modified by rotating the body, which results in both bolts being simultaneously screwed in or out, without causing any twisting of the bolts or the attached cables. All thread sizes and wire rope dimensions now adhere to U.S. standards and are compatible with the majority of other U.S. manufacturers. These turnbuckles are constructed from corrosion-resistant machined AISI 316 stainless steel and have an electropolished bright finish. It is recommended that turnbuckles be lubricated prior to their initial use and on a regular basis thereafter. Additionally, they should be routinely rinsed with fresh water and examined for any signs of damage, such as bent terminals or cracks at the thread roots or at the ends of the threads. The end fittings should be inspected to ensure they allow for unrestricted universal movement.
