Simrad: Built on the Water. Proven by It.
Simrad Origins
Simrad was founded in 1946 in Horten, Norway. The world had just emerged from war. Norwegian fishermen needed better tools to navigate cold, demanding waters. Two engineers answered that call.
The name was a contraction of Simonsen Radio. It was humble. The ambition was not. From the start, Simrad set out to build instruments worthy of the sea.
A Leader Emerges
Decade by decade, Simrad earned trust the hard way. Commercial fishing fleets adopted their sonars. Naval operators relied on their navigation systems. Offshore professionals chose Simrad because of its reliability.
Simrad expanded its reach globally, eventually becoming part of Navico — the world's largest marine electronics company. The scale grew. The standards did not change.
Today, Simrad is synonymous with serious marine radar. That reputation took decades to build.
For Every Boater
Simrad has never belonged only to the professional mariner. The weekend boater matters too.
That dual commitment shapes every product decision. Systems are built to install cleanly. Interfaces are built to think clearly. Whether you run a charter boat or a center console on weekends, Simrad delivers you where you are.
The Gold Standard
No product defines modern Simrad radar more than the HALO24. It is compact. It is fast. Pulse Compression technology delivers sharp target separation at close range, while Doppler processing instantly flags moving hazards in red. Rain and wave clutter disappears.
The HALO24 connects seamlessly to the Simrad MFD ecosystem. Chartplotters, fishfinders, and radar all share a single interface. The screen is familiar no matter which function you're running. Switching between chart view and radar overlay takes one tap.
That integration is not accidental. It is the product of a philosophy. Simrad builds systems, not parts. Every piece is designed to work with every other piece.
